La prevenci\u00f3n frente a desastres naturales es una responsabilidad crucial de las autoridades, permiti\u00e9ndoles interactuar con la poblaci\u00f3n y estar preparados. En este sentido, la Municipalidad Provincial de Abancay (MPA), a trav\u00e9s de la Subgerencia de Gesti\u00f3n de Riesgos de Desastres (SGRD) – Defensa Civil, el Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia Provincial (COEP) y el Grupo de Trabajo de Gesti\u00f3n de Riesgo de Desastres, bajo la direcci\u00f3n del Alcalde Ra\u00fal Pe\u00f1a S\u00e1nchez, ejecut\u00f3 con \u00e9xito el \u00abSimulacro Nacional de Lluvias Intensas, Huaycos e Inundaci\u00f3n\u00bb, con el deslizamiento de la quebrada de Sahuanay – Ullpuhuaycco como punto focal.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

El 14 de agosto, a las 7:30 pm, el Servicio Nacional de Meteorolog\u00eda e Hidrolog\u00eda del Per\u00fa \u2013 SENAMHI, emiti\u00f3 el Aviso Meteorol\u00f3gico N\u00b0 139-2023, previendo lluvias intensas en Abancay entre el 14 y 17 de agosto, acentu\u00e1ndose el d\u00eda 15 en la zona norte de la ciudad.<\/div>\n
El 15 de agosto, a las 3:00 pm, se declar\u00f3 emergencia por huaico en las quebradas Sahuanay – Ullpuhuaycco, causando riesgos a la vida, viviendas, servicios esenciales y accesos. La SGRD se moviliz\u00f3 de inmediato para evaluar la situaci\u00f3n. El alcalde Ra\u00fal Pe\u00f1a, como l\u00edder del grupo de trabajo y presidente de la plataforma de defensa civil, convoc\u00f3 a todos los miembros para implementar acciones acorde al Plan de Contingencias. Entidades de primera respuesta, como bomberos, centros de salud, Serenazgo y la Polic\u00eda Nacional del Per\u00fa (PNP), acudieron a asistir a los afectados, evacu\u00e1ndolos y proporcionando atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Tras la Evaluaci\u00f3n de Da\u00f1os y An\u00e1lisis de Necesidades (EDAN), se reportaron:<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

– 28 viviendas destruidas<\/div>\n
– 32 viviendas inhabitables<\/div>\n
– 186 personas damnificadas<\/div>\n
– 378 personas afectadas<\/div>\n
– 15 personas fallecidas<\/div>\n
– 8 personas desaparecidas<\/div>\n
– 76 heridos<\/div>\n
– 2 puentes colapsados<\/div>\n
– 500 metros de carreteras afectadas.<\/div>\n
– 20 Redes de agua sin servicio (%)<\/div>\n
– 30 Red de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica (%) y<\/div>\n
– Varias hect\u00e1reas de cultivo.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

La colaboraci\u00f3n activa de las autoridades y entidades de emergencia demostr\u00f3 la importancia de la preparaci\u00f3n y respuesta ante desastres naturales, subrayando la necesidad de continuar fortaleciendo estas medidas preventivas para salvaguardar vidas y propiedades en Abancay y sus alrededores.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
